Tip on Incremental Search

Post by sdolim »

Let's say there's a word (perhaps a variable or function name) that you want to locate all occurrences of in the file you are editing. Highlight an occurrence by double-clicking it with the mouse. Type Ctrl-F to open the incremental search box. The highlighted text is put there automatically (even if the Quick Find Bar was already open). Now press ENTER to move forward through the document to each next occurrence of the word. Or press Shift-ENTER to move backward.
