[ANN] CodeLite 7.0 is now available for download

Post by eranif »

Hi,

We are happy to announce that codelite 7.0 + wxCrafter 2.0 are now available for download
This release contains many bug fixes and some new (and exciting) features.

Visit our download page

A brief list of the features can be found here ( a short list, the list is too long to write down... ):

ATTN Windows Users:
  • If you are running Windows 64 bit, Please install CodeLite built for 64 bit - this will improve your performance significantly, especially CodeLite startup time
  • CodeLite 7.0 No longer bundles MinGW installer. Instead, if you are missing MinGW installation, CodeLite will offer you to download and install it separately
Installing CodeLite 7.0 over CodeLite 6.1 will NOT remove your previously installed MinGW

Hi Eran, great news!

Two questions, a) does it upgrade the previous version or do we need a clean install? b) are all previous options set lost?

Thanks

It upgrades.
During installation, you will be prompted whether or not you would like to keep your user settings, just say that you want to keep them and you are good to go

Hi,

I don't know if it's the same issue, but yesterday I started CL7.0 in a fresh installation of debian jessie, a virtualbox guest so it had less screen-width than normal. Turning on the toolbar (which I strongly agree should be on by default) resulted in an empty area on the left of the bar, and just the 'debug' toolbar visible on the right. Dragging this leftwards made another toolbar visible, and dragging this <etc>...
However the 'standard' toolbar never appeared; I couldn't expand CL enough to get to its edge. Trying again just now in debian wheezy worked OK.

I presume this is mostly caused by wxAUI perspective bugs, which we can't help. However it never seemed to happen when the toolbar was on by default...

smkingsoft, try deleting (or renaming) your CL configuration and trying again. If that fails, try deleting again, start CL, maximise it, and then turning on toolbars.

Regards,

David

Or, do a perspective restart from the main menu:
Perspective->Reset default layout
